What is Anti-wrinkle treatment?

Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified protein, known as botulinum toxin, to temporarily relax muscles by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that triggers muscle activity. This treatment helps to diminish repetitive muscle movements, reducing the visibility of lines such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet, while also helping to prevent the formation of new or deeper wrinkles. The treatment involves small, precise injections into specific facial muscles. The result is a refreshed and more relaxed appearance that maintains your natural expressions. Sessions usually last 15 to 30 minutes and may feel like tiny pinpricks. Effects typically become apparent within 3 to 7 days, peaking at around 2 weeks. When administered correctly, optimal doses can provide results lasting 3 to 4 months, after which the effects gradually fade and movement returns.

Who can have
Anti-wrinkle treatment?

Anti-wrinkle injections are for adults looking to minimize expression lines or prevent new wrinkles from forming, who seek a subtle and natural enhancement, are in good overall health, and are not pregnant or breastfeeding. It's also important to have realistic understanding and expectations about the treatment results. These treatments are not recommended for individuals with neuromuscular disorders, such as myasthenia gravis.

Important before and after considerations.

Before treatment: Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oils for 24 hours to minimise bruising. Come to your appointment without active skin infections. Plan treatments around important events (allow 2 weeks for full results). After treatment: Avoid rubbing or massaging the area for 24 hours. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, or hot yoga for the rest of the day. Results typically last 3–4 months, after which maintenance treatments are recommended.
